Not Left Alone
Hands down, Resurrection Sunday is my favorite day of the year. When Christ crushed the head of the serpent. Defeated death with a mighty blow. Rose victorious and in Him we have new life. Anthems at full volume proclaiming He Is Alive! You leave the service feeling energized and ready to do your part for the Kingdom of God!
The beauty is that God does desire for that excitement and joy to continue beyond Easter. In Jesus words prior to His trial and arrest, He was preparing them for the events which would follow – not just up to His Resurrection but also as He returned to Heaven with the Father. In John 14:16-17, Jesus says, “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.” It is the Holy Spirit who indwells those who are God’s Children. He grants us peace and enables us to love as Jesus loves. He testifies of the work of Jesus and reminds us of His teachings. Be encouraged that even after Resurrection Sunday that God desires to continue to do that good work which He began. You are not left as an orphan, but empowered through His Spirit to know Him more each day and to accomplish His Will!
