Living the Covenant

Acting as one Church Body as we live out the plan and purpose that Jesus has called us to live!

Church Covenant of New Covenant Baptist Church:

Having been led, as we believe, by the Spirit of God, we received the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior and on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, we do now, in the presence of God, angels and this fellowship of believers, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another as one body in Christ.

We commit, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian love; to strive for the advancement of this Church, in knowledge, holiness, and unity; to promote the furtherance of the Gospel and the discipleship of believers; to sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines; and to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the needs of our community, and the spread of the Gospel through all nations.

We also commit to maintain family and personal devotions; to train our children in the Word; to seek the salvation of all whom God has placed in our path, whether family, friends, co-workers, or strangers; to walk circumspectly in the world as we desire holiness and righteousness, to be just and demonstrate integrity in all our dealings; faithful and sincere in our commitments; and cultivate the fruit of the Spirit in our daily living; and to be zealous in our efforts to advance the kingdom of our Savior.

We further commit to encourage and exhort one another in brotherly love; to remember each other in prayer; to aid each other in sickness and hardship; to be considerate to the needs and feelings of others in our actions and speech; to be slow to take offense, quick to listen, and always ready for reconciliation, mindful of the commandments of our Savior to secure unity in the Spirit without delay.

We moreover commit that if we remove from this fellowship we will, as soon as possible, unite with another fellowship of believers where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God's word.
